Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute improves health, well-being, and health equity for our members and all communities through collaborative research and evaluation.
We envision a future where we partner with researchers, health systems, and communities to improve health care, eliminate inequities, and help people thrive where they live, learn, work, and play.
With a passion for health improvement, our scientific teams are led mostly by PhDs and MDs with backgrounds in health services, behavioral science, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, health informatics, and other fields.
Today’s health care challenges demand a kind of research that can happen quickly and efficiently — while making a measurable difference in health outcomes.
Our highly trained staff members support such science with a robust infrastructure of high-quality data, well-equipped facilities, and proficient administrative resources.
We study health and health care in everyday settings, generating results that work in the real world — not just in research environments. We collaborate with health care providers, administrators, patients, and other scientists nationwide, answering some of health care’s toughest questions.
Both of KPWHRI’s centers are integral parts of the institute.
